Math has never been a strong passion of mine and I could admit that from the very start, The main reason it's not a passion is because it doesn't come easy to me. While growing up though I figured out some tricks to give me a better edge. The example I have is in the 3rd grade we were learning how to do multiplication. A concept that I very early recognized I knew nothing about. So what I decided to do is put the determination and the aggressiveness that I used when I was playing sports and decided to apply it to my studies and see how it went. I locked myself in my room to not be disturbed and I created flash cards of the multiplication table. And I told myself exactly what I tell myself on the field, "You are not going to stop until I know that my job is done and only then will I stop". And I went after it. I spent a total of 5 hours in my room just memorizing and understanding the concepts. And for me this worked. I got a 100% on my test and I had never been more proud.
I still use this technique with the aggressive attitude in my day to day studies and it always works for me. I'm not saying that this is the approach you have to take in your studies but this method has worked for me in all that I do. Is there any other way that you use that I could incorporate it into my methods?
